Hendersonville
The “City of the Four Seasons,” Hendersonville is the heart of an economically and culturally vibrant mountain community. Known for its picturesque and historic Main Street, with its dozens of restaurants, shops, antique stores, galleries, and boutiques, downtown Hendersonville has a wide array of shopping opportunities bustling with activity.
Hendersonville boasts three local microbreweries, a cidery, and the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown. A special treat downtown is the annual Public Art Display, “Bearfootin’ in Hendersonville,” a wildly popular auction of decorated bear statues that raises money for local charities and non-profits. Visitors and locals love to hunt for bears and strike a pose in front of their favorites to create one-of-a-kind photo memories.
Hendersonville plays host to nearly a dozen festivals every year, including Music on Main, Rhythm & Brews, Street Dancing, and perhaps most famously, the North Carolina Apple Festival every Labor Day weekend. The Apple Festival celebrates Henderson County’s 200 or so apple growers, who produce nearly 70% of all North Carolina’s apples.
